BATTLE OF BIRTLEY CUP QUARTER FINALS

A rivalry renewed as the leader of ARK took on the current DCW Openweight Champion to progress in the tournament. There was no love lost between the two but it was the living nightmare that advanced to the semi finals!

Alan shaw is the current 2x Battle of Birtley Cup winner and he took that seriously coming into the match. It was a close match and both competitors gave it their all, but there seemed to be something driving the "King of the Skies" as he put down the Power of Love to advance.

SATCHEL JONES DEF. JAKUB
There seems to be a new edge to the Rockstar as he returns from a long hiatus. This new edge was enough for him to fell one half of the DCW Double Dropkick Tag Team Champions as he defeated young Jakub to advance.

RKID DEF. SIMON G MONEY
Simon G Money after last months hit to the head seemed to be back to his old tricks, but there was something slightly off about it, like he was unsure. Perhaps it was the being in Birtley where nobody liked him? Either way, he was bested by RKID who was fully focussed on the task at hand and hit a beautiful frog splash for the win, The Semi Finals were now set.

Whilst things were respectful in the quarter finals, Shaw would seemingly drop that in the ring with RKID. Again, a driven and motivated man stood across the ring from a difficult opponent who would push his limits as RKID looked likely to advance at several moments, however the King of the Skies was locked in and picked up the win. This time, not even staying to shake the hand of his opponent like he had in the first round. An interesting change in the former DCW Heavyweight Champion...

Spawn and Satchel Jones were both part of the final at last years cup tournament, but this year they would be fighting to see who would join the current cup holder in the match this year. Satchel Jones gave it his all and the new attitude he's brought with him almost put him over the finish line, but Spawn would pull out the win and advance to the finals for the 2nd year in a row!
ARK INVITATIONAL RUMBLE
EUAN G MACKIE WINS
Euan G Mackie would come back out to extoll the virtues of his ARK Wrestling Preservation Project and in the process challenge the whole available roster to come out and take part in an over-the-top-rope rumble, promising to take on the winner into the ARK Project and enhance their careers. It came down to he and Jakub, whom he'd tried to recruit before, and somehow it looked like he'd tricked the youngster into joining the cause by getting him into the match, however he threw the Polish Party Prince out of the ring and claimed victory, and he claimed that it showed nobody was worthy of joining ARK at all. Knowing Mr Mackie, there is definitely something behind this but we'll have to wait and see where it leads...

Alan Shaw had locked in and Spawn was as focussed as ever going into the finals of the Battle of Birtely Cup III Finals, but only one could stand tall. Both men had gone through a lot this afternoon in getting to the match and the exhaustion was evident in both men, but the pushed through until they couldn't anymore. After a devastating Superplex from the top, Alan Shaw's body couldn't take anymore punishment and he just failed to lift his shoulder off the mat, meaning that for the first time in 3 years, he had suffered a defeat at the Battle of Birtley event, and we saw the rise of someone new. The landscape has shifted and the man poised to rise to the top is the Living Nightmare - Spawn!
